This project is designed to give you an idea of the steps involved in performing a complete statistical study. You will perform a statistical analysis using the given dataset that has ages for a random sample of 50 drivers in the United States who were arrested while driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). The description linked below lays out the steps introduced in your textbook in Section 1.3. Most steps are expanded to try to explain why we do each one within the context of the given problem. Provide a research paper that describes everything you do in your statistical analysis. Your paper should include section headings, graphics, and tables when appropriate. There is not a specified length, however it is important that you follow all steps in the Project Description and grade yourself using the grading rubric provided since it is the rubric that will be used to grade your submissions. All work should be your own. Plagiarism or using advanced automated tools (artificial intelligence or machine learning tools such as ChatGPT or Dall-E 2 or any other AI platforms) will result in a project score of 0. Assume the reader of your paper doesn’t have any statistical training. You should describe: What statistical analyses you performed at each step. The reasons you performed the analyses you did. The results of your analyses. The interpretations of your results. (It’s ok to use some of the same reasons listed in the Project Description for why you chose specific statistical methods.
