This assignment will help you reflect on the ethical principles that guide psychological research, your progress towards developing the APAC Level 1 (Foundational) Competencies, and the key learnings of the unit.This assignment comprises two parts:Part 1: Ethics reflections—For Part 1, you will take part in research through the Research Experience Program (REP). You will record four ethics reflections and report on your experience with specific reference to the four Values and Principles of Ethical Conduct. Each reflection will earn you a mark out of 4, for a total of 16 possible marks.Part 2: Competencies reflections—For Part 2, you will reflect on the APAC Level 1 (Foundational) Competencies and your learning materials in this unit. You will be given a mark out of 4 for Part 2.You will earn up to five marks for REP participation (i.e. one mark for every hour of research participation).You will use Assignment 2: Reflective assignment template (DOCX 62 KB) Download Assignment 2: Reflective assignment template (DOCX 62 KB)to complete this assignment.The Research Experience Program (REP) will open during Week 2. You will need to complete at least four studies to be able to complete Assignment 2. If you have participated in REP before, you will use your current login details, but you may not have full access until later in the week. Once you have received your login details, you need to sign up for some research through Sona Systems. As you complete each study, take notes about the aim of the study and note how the study addresses the values and principles of ethical conduct.ImportantYou must save your notes and the debriefing statement for each REP study as you will need to use them in this assignment.Note that you must be 18 years of age to participate. If you don’t want to participate or are under 18 years of age, you can participate in Practice Studies on Sona Systems. These will not collect your data but still give you exposure to methods and issues involved in psychological research. With Practice Studies, you will still earn REP marks and be able to complete this assignment.
