Creating ideas for strategic interventions involves strategic issue identification and strategy development, but also depends on understanding political feasibility. In other words, creating ideas that are worth implementing and that are also implementable depends on clearly understanding stakeholders and their interests, both separately and in relation to each other, so that issues can be formulated in such a way that they have a chance of being addressed effectively. Discuss the following questions:
Question 1: What are the issues that need to be addressed during your planning process and what are the underlying/contributing factors for these issues? Do these issues impact all stakeholder populations equally? Discuss how and why any differences exist. What information do you need to gather to formulate solutions or actions in order to address these issues?
Question 2: In the 2 case found in Schein & Schein (Chapters Three and Four) what struck you as most different? How much was attributable to their national locations? How much is attributable to their history, size, and age? How well do you think you would fit into either company?
