Final Assessment Guidelines – Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 Module title: Competing Philosophies of Education Assessment Point: Portfolio Assessment task: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 Word count limit: 4,500 words Written Assessment Guidelines Part 1: Demonstrate critical understanding of the key debates and traditions discussed in the material of the course within the philosophy of education. Part 2: Evaluate the relative usefulness of a variety of philosophical perspectives on a range of contemporary educational issues. Part 3: Outline your own critical response to issues in education, globalisation and social justice, from a philosophical perspective. Structure of Portfolio Your work should include and cover the following sections/aspects and content (as shown and stated in the table below). The specific percentage marks allocated to each section/aspect of your work is stated below. Please also note that the Level 7 marking criteria (located towards the end of this assessment brief) will also be used to reflect this overall grade. Please remember that achievement and demonstration of both learning outcomes (1 and 2) is being assessed in this assessment.
